ABSTRACT:Groundwater is a vital component of the green development project because human life is not possible without water. Hence, in order to facilitate green groundwater development in future, there is no alternative but to save and conserve groundwater resources. The aim of technological development for groundwater conservation is to help reduce groundwater consumption and maintain both the quantity and quality of the available groundwater. This includes the implementation of demand side management practices including minor irrigation technologies such as drip and sprinkler methods, which constitute the key interventions for conserving water and improving crop productivity. The call to ‘save water’ has been echoing universally in recent times in view of the rapid depletion of groundwater resources throughout the world.
